Day 36 - River Tubing, Clabony Hot Sulphur Spring, Pearls Airport

Yesterday was a jam packed day. We were picked up at 12pm by our tour guide and taken to the rainforest where Grace, Helen, Rachael, Marina and I went river tubing which was really good fun, I’ve got some videos on my waterproof camera. It was a mix of rapids and lazy river occasionally getting stuck in rocks on the side. After that we headed up to Clabony to a Hot Sulphur Spring which was very relaxing. It was also in the middle of the rainforest so was a really beautiful walk up to it.

Then on the way back to the house we stopped off at Pearls Airport which was Grenada’s Original Airport but was abandoned during the revolution when the St. George’s airport was built. Now it’s just a deserted green with two plane wrecks and the run way is used for drag racing. It was really cool to see.

When we got back Rachael cooked a Chickpea, green bean and potato pumpkin curry which was really yummy. I was sat right next to the pot and had multiple helpings...

After dinner the others went on Night Survey and Tom, Rachael, Helen and I were going to go to a Local Jam at the Sulphur Springs in River sallee but it was too dark to walk there so we went and watched some of the locals playing cricket at the community centre instead.
