Day 31 - Jouvay chocolate factory, Nutmeg Processing factory and Concord waterfall

Yesterday after I arrived back from night survey I cleaned the house bright and early. At 8:30am we had inwater Survey training which was just training on what happens on boat surveys which were starting this week. It’ll involve taking a boat out to nearby islands where there’s a juvenile green turtle feeding ground and another area with a large adult hawksbill population. We’ll tag and measure any the free divers get onto the boat and Kate will take blood samples. I’m really excited to go on the boat on Friday. Rachael and Helen have gone today :)

After our training Kate and Kester arrived to take Helen, Rachael, Marina, Kirsten, Grace and I on a day trip. We headed west to Victoria to the Jouvay chocolate factory. We didn’t do the tour but we had some free samples, we then went into Gouyave to the Nutmeg processing plant and saw how they process the nutmegs which was cool. And then we were taken to concord waterfall where we had a swim at the bottom. The car park is right by the falls so we didn’t have to hike at all.

After our day out we returned to the house. I finished the second book and Rachael and I were on cooking. We made a vegetable tomato based sauce with pumpkin, aubergine, chickpeas, onion, garlic, , green beans and carrot served with spaghetti, cheese and salad 🥗.
