Day 55- Excavation, Shopping, Bathway

Today was a busy day. Steph, Tom,Kate and I headed to Levera at 5:45 for morning survey and excavation. We marked out 16 nests and found 11, breaking our record of 10 by 1. I found 3 😊. I did a lot of scribing and removed eggs from 2 nests. Luckily it was a dry morning but it got very hot! Once we were finished we headed back to the house I had avocado on toast  and after showering Steph, Kate and I headed to Sateurs to do the food shop. It was boiling hot! No breeze just sticky heat! Lots of traffic as today is the Friday before carnival which means everyone needs to get their shopping done before the shops are closed until Wednesday. Kate popped into the bakery and got Steph, Tom and I cheese twists and cinnamon buns! When we got back to the house Steph and I devoured our freshly baked goods. We had been planning on going to Belmont Estate for the afternoon for a live calypso music event but it was incredibly hot and made us all very lethargic and Steph still had to clean the house. We had invited Anton to come with us to in the end we decided we’d all go and hang out at Bathway instead so we spent the late afternoon and evening at the beach. After a swim and reading for a bit we visited Aggie and her puppies before walking back to the house. Anton joined the three of us, showed me some very cool magic tricks with cards before we played card games for the rest of the evening. He put two cards in my hand and we both looked at them and then I held them for the trick and then somehow by the end of it I was holding different ones but they never left my hands.
