Day 53 - Boat Day

Yesterday I had my second in water boat Survey day. I got up 5:30am prepped the kit box with the ice  blocks for the cooler and turned on the GPS. Kate, Carter and I were in Sateurs by 7:20 with Praggi to meet Zoe, Benson, Claire (one of the ocean spirits directors) Nick and Will. We got on Dragons friends boat with Dragon as our captain (dragon has just re painted his boat and didn’t want turtles scratching it up). This other boat had a fancy steering wheel but it was a bit in the way when we got the turtles on the boat. We went out to the Isle of Ronde and round the channel and Isle of Caillse. We got a total of 5 turtles, 3 greens one juvenile and 2 sub adult, 2 adult Hawksbills. Everyone else was in the water, nick with some very high tech housing for his camera taking underwater photos of the turtles and the divers catching them. Carter was in charge of holding and taking blood and Kate tagged and measured whilst I scribed.

We returned to shore at 13:00 and headed back to the house. Tom and Steph has gone to the beach when I got back so I had avocado on toast for lunch and read for the afternoon, also car sweep before dinner. Steph was on cooking, we had left over lasagna with oven roasted veggies and soy and garlic green beans, very yum.
