Day 49 - St George’s and Grand Anse Beach
Today Marina and I were up at 6am. It was my day to clean the house so I mopped and swept all the rooms and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. we left the house just after 7 with Tom and walked to Rose Hill to catch the Bus to Sateurs. We said goodbye to Tom and got a bus to St George’s. We arrived in St George’s just after 9am, looked around souvenir shops and bought a few bits before heading to the House of Chocolate Shop and Museum. It is a shop that sells handcrafted local jewellery and also houses a chocolate museum and sells lots of chocolate things from all the chocolate factories on the island. They also have their own cafe and chocolate treats such as hot and cold drinks like milkshakes and cocoa tea as well as cakes, brownies, cookies and truffles. I bought two cookies and a brownie 🙂. We bought take away and got the bus to Grand Anse where we enjoyed our chocolate treats on the sand. I went to eco dive and retrieved my towel I left there on Wednesday which was good. Marina and I then spent a few hours on the beach, I went for a swim and read my book and then at half 12 we went into a restaurant just behind the beach called Umbrellas where we had lunch. I had some sweet potato fries and an ice tea 😊. Once we were done we headed back onto the beach for a few more hours where I again went for a swim and read my book.
At 3pm we made our way off the beach and got a bus back to St George’s, there was a lot of traffic due to a children’s parade which we didn’t manage to see but we managed to get to the bus station and get a bus to Sateurs. Then in Sateurs we changed bus to Rose Hill and walked back to the house. Everyone was pretty full still so Marina and I cooked a light and late dinner. Just a simple pasta in tomato and balsamic sauce with veggies and cheese.
