Greece Days 11, 12 & 13
The last few days have been much of the same, lots of cleaning tanks and turtles!
On saturday I was on PA for the afternoon which meant I was in charge of the Shop and giving tours around the outside of the rescue centre. There was a bit of a problem with the cash reciept machine which was a bit stressful but we managed to fix it, which is hard because all the buttons are in greek so we reallllyy have to try and make sure to do it right because sorting it out is very difficult. and my shift was 11am - 17:00 but because I stayed at the RC with Adam the night before I helped out with tanks and turtles in the morning, Zonne and I cleaned out Moody who is in one of the Big tanks. Even though everyone else finished early at 3pm I had to stay and do the shop. The others went to the beach though and Adam and Lewis saw an octopus! We ordered Pita Bar for dinner, I had a chicken Pita and Adam had Pork skewer Pita.
Saturday evening we all dressed up and went to a fancy bar on the beach called Nalu on Lewis' request but after we got there and looked at the menu it was decided it was too expensive so we tried another one further down the road but it was closed so we settled for buying drinks from a kiosk and sitting on the beach all together.
On Sunday It was more of the same, Adam and I cleaned Vicky and Rhapsody's tanks and turtles and then did the feeding together, cutting up all the relevant fish weights, we finished all the turtle duties early and so Adam and I went back to the apartment to get our Snorkelling gear and got the Tram back the the RC to go snorkelling with Callum and Lewis at the beach next to the RC. We saw lots of Urchins and a few small fish. Callum saw an octopus when he was getting out but I couldn't find it :( Zonne got bitten by Arya when trying to do her tube feed and had to go to hospital to get her thumb checked over and bandaged up but it should be okay.
We all went to Zahoulis for dinner Sunday evening. I had Halloumi with green peppers and Courgette (Zucchini) fries which was soooo yummy. Adam had two chicken souvlaki skewers with pitta and some of my Halloumi, peppers and courgette fries.
Today I cleaned Ariadni and her tank before cleaning Foxy's tank whilst Adam cleaned Foxy. We also did the feeding together but we ran out of fish so not all the turtles could be fed today. I tube fed Kornilia and did most of the PM tasks such as emptying the chlorine bucket, sweeping the turtle wagon and laundry room, mopping the decking, emptying the bins, washing the synringes, folding dry towels and putting more washes on, 2nd and 3rd rounds of feeding. We finished early so we all went to the beach, Adam and I went snorkelling and the others sunbathed. Later in the evening Lewis left for the airport and the others went back to the apartment. Tonight Amy, Adam, Mathilde and I are staying at the RC. Adam and I made Pitta Pizza for dinner again which was very yum.
