Greece Day 18 & 19

Back to turtle work!

Saturday was a long day of cleaning tanks, turtles, feeding and tube feeding. Lots of turtles needed injections and drips as well. We didn't finish until after 18:00! In the afternoon Sortiris' tank was empty and he was prepared for release as Christos and him are being released on Monday.  Sortiris was put into a smaller tank and Giorgos was moved into Big Tank 1 after we cleaned and chlorinated it. I was very excited to clean Big tank 1 as there is a wooden stand that I had been dying to scrub, it was completely black with dark green algae and Amy and I scrubbed it whilst Stijn and Gabs cleaned the rest of the tank. We then chlorinated the tank before Gabs and I rinsed it ready for Giorgos. Adam and I went for dinner at a restuarant near the apartment we have seen a few times that looked very authentic and nice. We had Feta fried with honey and seasame seeds, a mixed grill and chips which was veryyyy yummy.

Today was more of the same, but a lot less turtles to clean and chlorinate. We managed to be done with turtles and tanks by half twelve and just had feeding rounds and PM tasks. We were done by 3pm and Adam and I went to the beach for a couple of hours before spending some time at the RC with Niels, Gabs and Amy. We returned to the apartment and had a very random dinner. Left over mixed grill, left over pesto feta pasta and smashed avocado.
