Greece Day 17 - Day off
Today was Adam and I's second day off. We spent the morning at Mount Lycabettus, it is one of the highest peaks in Athens. We got breakfast from a bakery near the tram and then got the metro. It was a bit of a hike up, not very difficult as the path was made up mostly of stairs and it didn't take that long but it was quite tiring! The view from the top was amazing, you could see all of Athens. We could see the Acropolis and as its two peaks are the 19th century chapel of St.George, a theatre and a cafe. We had lunch at the cafe at the top and then made our way back down. We then went to the War Museum near the bottom of the Hill which we got free entry for as students. Adam enjoyed looking at all of the different guns and swords.
We then got the metro to the flea market where we had a look at the shops and Adam got a new shirt. Afterwards we got the metro to Neos Kosmos and went to a cafe for a drink before getting the tram back to the apartment. We stopped off at the supermarket to get food for dinner. We made Pesto pasta with melted parmesan, chopped feta, olives, ground pepper and olive oil.
