Week 11 - FSC Millport
This week we have been very lucky to have had some beautiful weather up in Scotland. on 14th April it was both National Dolphin Day and National Look up to the Sky day, enouraging us to appreciate the beauty that is above us, Who knew!
During the week I have been similar work in our well regimented routine, Zoom meetings in the morning, (theme of multicoloured I definitely nailed one morning) Our lunch time walks to the beach and afternoons either spent in the Garden attacking the brambles or at the Centre painting some tables. They have been sanded down and needed Primer and glodd paint applied. At the moment we are waiting to do the 2nd gloss coat this week.
We started trying to burn some of the brambles because we now have a huge mountain that we have cut down but we could only burn a small amount at a time so it hasn't really made a huge difference.
On one of our daily walks we went up to the Cathedral and collected Wild Garlic leaves, I used some on top of a Pizza that night which was really yummy. Rosie used some to make wild garlic pesto and Christina used some to make cheese and wild garlic scones which were really yummy. I'd never had wild garlic before, its more subtle than the normal garlic cloves but also very garlicy and yummy!
Luke, Rosie and I have been shown how to complete the weekly fire alarm tests on site so will be taking on that responsibility each week now.
At the weekend I deep cleaned the Kitchen and made some flourless brownies as we still can't get any flour in the shops. I managed to find a recipe with Cornflour and made them on Sunday and they actually turned out a lot better than I was expecting! They're really yummy.
On Sunday I also went for a cycle whilst the weather was gorgeous and stopped to watch Kylie the common dolphin for a while.
I have also posted a few more blog posts on the FSC Millport Wordpress Blog:
