Week 8 - FSC Millport
This week we began working from home after the Governments announcement.
On Monday most staff were working from home apart from those who were unable to, Rosie, Luke and I were doing outside jobs around site such as weeding, tidying the bug hotel and removing Ivy from the side of the Kit store. We also began redrawing some of the slate chalk signs from around site and I finished painting my weather tree in the allen classroom.
On Tuesday everyone was told to work from home. Rosie and I had made a list of office tasks we could get done from home. For the rest of the week we have been having Zoom meetings at 9am before continuing the day with our office jobs such as typing up a how to set up a Bioblitz guide and information posters for the museum. We have had various themes for our meetings including tartan and cool hats.
We have also been doing Yoga at 5pm each day and watching a film in the evenings. One of my main tasks I have taken on is creating daily 30 minute environmental activities that people can do from home or their gardens to post on social media.
I have enjoyed 2 webinars this week delivered by Brad Nahill, the president of SEEturtles.org, one on fundraising for sea turtle conservation and one on Sea turtle biology.
On Friday I also made a Plankton card sort resource for FSC live, a project producing resources for schools and universities as they are now unable to visit our centres for their field trips.
On Saturday I mostly stayed inside, I went for a walk to do some food shopping and did some exercise inside. At 7pm we had a work cockail party via Zoom, everyone dressed up nice which was funny. We also celebrated earth hour so between 20:30-21:30 had all the lights off and played Luke, Rosie and I played Beer pong by torch light.
On Sunday Luke, Rosie and I went for a walk just after lunch and while the weather was nice we took some rackets, balls and frisbe into the front garden behind the wall and played various ball games and listened to music outside which was fun.
